I see dead people. - Shot from 'The Sixth Sense' (2009)
I like this shot. This is one of my favourite movies, and a momentous part of film history.
Its an extreme close up of a child. The camera zooms in on the child's face the child's expression and the movement of the camera you get a feeling of suspenseful innocence. The music is slightly chilling giving the feeling of fear needed in a this thriller.
Shot from music video 'Nothing to Lose - by Billy Talent'
I like how the book kind of frames the bottom of the picture. The foreground that being the book and drawing the person which your seeing in there point of view. You can see how the background is blurred which makes the video more interesting. The shot follows the person and is at eye level so you are seeing the shot in his point of view. This brings a feeling of isolation, especially how the other people in the shot are blurred, which goes with the lyrics about being lonely and isolated at school.
Another shot from music video 'Nothing to Lose - by Billy Talent'
I like this shot because of the reflection of an institution looking building in the puddles. The shot follows a person walking in the rain. You get the idea that they are a school student from the silhouette. The rain gives you an idea of melancholy and the fact that the camera angles is looking down on the person. Giving the feeling that everyone looks down on the character.
Shot from music video 'Asylum - by Disturbed'
This is a shot that you would find in a cooking show. Its a close up on the major point of the video and blocks out the background of the shot. I like it cause its freaky and really accentuates on the eye. The eye is really in focus. The video doesn't really have a feeling or message portrayed with this part of the clip I just wanted to add it cause it looked cool :P .
Another shot from the music video by the 'Disturbed - Asylum'
This shot is an extreme close up of someone falling onto the ground. The camera is sitting on the ground. You see the head fall into the shot. It gives up a feeling of pain and suffering, and a feeling of giving up. It makes the person look like a victim.

This is a shot of an eye, I like this shot because I have a fascination with expression especially the eye. It is an extreme close up of an eye. It has an image of an animation on top. I'm not sure what the actual people did to do this shot, but you could put the image into a program like after effects or used transparency layer in programs such as premier pro or final cut pro.

This is a shot of School children coming out of a school bus. I like how the image in the shot is at a rotated angle. The camera was either held differently or the video was rotated in a video editing program. I also like how the light reflects on the camera. I just find this a very interesting shot.

Shot from 'Session 9' (2001)
This is a shot from Session 9 (Horror). I love the lighting used in this shot I think they used light coming in from the window, probably from very bright lights outside the windows. Because the light comes from behind the person it silhouettes the images in the foreground. I also like how the camera looks up into the figures making the room look almost endless and timeless.
Shot from the 'Lord of the Rings' Trilogy 'The Two Towers' (2002)
I like how the light is used in this scene. The camera is using a full shot. I like how the light comes from the top of the composition. It also comes behind the character framed in the composition. It gives it a surreal look. This works well because the movie is a fantasy. It also gives the authority to Gandalf (the white guy LOL) as he is the leader it really works for his introduction back into the film.
Shot from 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1' (2010)
I love how Daniel Radcliffe's face is reflected on the shard of mirror. Im not sure how the image was actually captured on this video. Its a point of view shot but they somehow could find an angle that would look like a point of view but without the camera showing in the reflection as well. possibly they used a long shot and then focused in but I'm not particularly sure. I just wanted to add it cause it looked cool, and it's from my all time favourite movie series.
Shot is from 'The Poltergeist' (1982)
This is a shot from The Poltergeist I like this image because of the way the light makes the video looks eerie. The green tinge to the light from the TV just brings out the shockingness of the scene. The camera is capturing a full shot and the shot is really well composed and framed.
Shot from 'Psycho' (1960)
This is from one of Alfred Hitchcock's most famous films Psycho, this is from the shower scene which is a momentous scene in film history. It's in Black & White so the use of light is very important. Its a close up of the murderer. The lights are focused from behind so that the character is in shadow from our view. Its a fantastic shot I love the way the water from the shower puts fragments of light over the shadowed figure.

This is also from the Shower Scene in Psycho. Its a clip of the shower water running down the bathtub into the plughole. The video pans from the shower to the plughole, it uses an extreme close up with a pan. The shot has contrast with the blood from the murder washing down the plughole. I love how this is done and think its an extremely good clip especially in the black and white film.
Another shot from 'Psycho' (1960)
I tried to do this shot. Looking at different angles I had a few theories I tried zooming in on the shower from a close angle looking up. It didn't get the look of the spray coming onto the lens like Alfred Hitchcock achieved. Then I thought maybe it was edited by cropping the clip.
In order to capture the straight-on shot of the shower head, the camera had to be equipped with a long lens. The inner holes on the spout were blocked and the camera placed farther back, so that the water appears to be hitting the lens but actually went around and past it.

Shot from Criminal Minds - Season 3, Episode 10 "True Night" (2007)
I like how this shot is done. It's kind of mysterious but you feel like the character in the shot has authority over everyone else. Its a mid shot and shows quite a bit of scenery. I like how the colour makes it look like its from a comic book.
